The EIA reported a draw of 3,029 MBbls in U.S. crude-oil inventories. In contrast, the market expected a build of 444 MBbls as reported by Bloomberg.
Inventories for the U.S. are now at a deficit of 6.70 MMBbls (-1.6%) to last year, and a deficit of 28.40 MMBbls (-6.3%) to the five-year average.
