Position Overview
AEGIS is seeking a Manager of Oil & Gas Analytics to transform oil & gas marketing data into actionable business intelligence and benchmarking products. This individual will combine analytical skills with an understanding of oil and gas marketing dynamics to uncover trends, identify value opportunities, and help shape AEGIS’s next generation of data-driven insights and commercial offerings. This role sits at the crossroads of data science, market analysis, and product innovation, helping AEGIS clients optimize marketing decisions and capture value in an increasingly transparent market.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform complex data into insightful visualizations, dashboards, and narratives that help clients make better commercial decisions.
- Collaborate with clients and product teams to define data requirements and ensure data quality, integrity, and scalability.
- Analyze market behavior across crude, natural gas, and NGLs to identify patterns, opportunities, and regional pricing trends.
- Stay current on evolving midstream and marketing practices and contract structures, to ensure analytical models reflect commercial arrangements.
- Lead the development of benchmark datasets derived from physical marketing contractual and transaction data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business discipline (Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or similar).
- Proven ability to transform structured and unstructured data into actionable insights—experience building or curating benchmarks or analytic models preferred.
- Proficiency with analytical tools (SQL, Power BI, Spotfire, Python, R, or equivalent).
- Experience in crude, gas, or NGL marketing, midstream analytics, or GIS mapping software is considered a plus.
- Understanding of physical marketing structures (gathering, transportation, basis differentials, and contracts).
- Excellent communication skills; able to present findings to both technical and commercial audiences.
