- Almost two-thirds of France's capacity for crude refining is now completely offline or functioning at reduced levels owing to strikes, confirmed an official from the refiner's union
- The French government has asked companies to restock their diesel supplies in the coming months ahead of winter
- The government had released fuel inventories during a globally coordinated inventory draw in June, and it now plans to restock inventories between October and November
